Haydock Commercials Ride and Drive event 2010
To celebrate the launch of the New R-series range and the introduction of the 2 pedal opticruise system, Haydock Commercials held a ride and drive event at Haydock Park Racecourse.
Our customers came to Haydock Park racecourse on Tuesday May 11th to enjoy a "Ride and Drive".
We provided five fully laden vehicles, including an R620 Topline, an R480 Topline two R440 Highlines and a P360 8x4 Tipper for our customers to experience. Over a carefully planned route they could put these vehicles through their paces testing the new 2-pedal opticruise gearbox system from Scania, and it must be said we had a fantastic response, the feedback was very positive.
On the day we also laid on a series of presentations , Steve Mclachlan from Scania Great Britain told our customers about all of the latest developments from Scania and gave them an in depth view of the features in the new R-series range while Andy Hilliard accompanied by Haydock Commercials Aftersales Director Mark Robertson spoke about the role of Scania Aftersales. A buffet lunch and afternoon tea were also provided and appreciated by many of our customers.
Outside we had static displays featuring of course the new R-series Scania, the brand new FA England team coach, Eddie Stobart Ltd sent down their Ford Focus Monster rally car and Fagan and Whalley very kindly took their oldest truck off the road for a day so that our customers could admire a 16 year old Scania 113 4x2 360 tractor unit which has covered no less than 1.8 million kilometers and is still working with its original engine and driveline. A true testement to the quality, reliability and longevity of Scania trucks. Our Used sales manager Dan Dawson had a selection of used trucks on display which added further interest to the event.
Managing Director Simon Dykes is delighted by the response from our customers, "I think the day went incredibly well, everyone was happy and enjoyed the event. Our staff worked very hard on the day to ensure that everything was in place and ran smoothly at this great venue. We will certainly be holding a similar event in the future".
